Happiness and dessert go hand in hand for us. Nothing brings a smile to our face more than a sweet treat to cap off the day. And what's more comforting than a dessert made from the delightful cereals of our youth? We can't think of much! Join us in making this oh so delicious Cereal Milk Panna Cotta. Simple and delicious, this will be your go-to recipe.

Panna Cotta Dessert

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups your favorite cereal

  • 3 cups whole milk

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • Pinch of salt

  • ¼ cup of sugar (only if using unsweetened cereal.. If cereal is sweetened no additional sugar is needed)

  • 1 tablespoon of powdered, unflavored gelatin (about 1 ½ packets)

RECIPE PREPARATION

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Toast the cereal on a baking sheet for 10-12 minutes. While still warm, pour into bowl and add milk and cream. Stir, and steep for 40 minutes.

  • Strain into saucepan through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on solids to extract all of the liquid. Add salt and sugar (if using), and heat over medium low heat until just warm (not hot), or until sugar just dissolves (if using). Pour a ¼ cup of milk mixture into small bowl and stir in gelatin. Let sit for 5 minutes, then whisk back into larger milk mixture.

  • Divide into small cups or ramekins, and refrigerate until set, about 3 hours. Cover until ready to serve.

  • For the topping, crush additional cereal in a zip top bag and sprinkle on the finished panna cotta.
