With the launch of our new Parachute for Crate and Barrel collection, our Founder, Ariel Kaye decided it was time to give her bedroom a refresh. The relaxing hues, minimalist design and soft touches inspired her to design a space that is both energizing and functional. Join us for a tour of Ariel's bedroom inspired by early morning walks on the beach.

Ariel tends to gravitate to neutral tones and natural wood to create a bedroom retreat that is calming. She turned to the collection's exclusive colorway, Ocean, for a pop of color on her bed. "Ocean is a statement without being overpowering," says Kaye. Ariel and her daughter, Lou, take regular morning walks on the beach and Ocean captures the natural beauty of the sea. Ariel styled her Cloud Cotton Quilt with a mix of whites and creams to create a dreamy bedroom oasis.

Ariel moved into her home last September knowing that her family would be spending a majority of their time at home. So comfort was a top priority! Ariel says, "I like to incorporate different textures to add dimension to the a space and create warmth. In my bedroom I used our Cloud Cotton Quilt, Brushed Cotton Sheeting and Sala Rug from Crate and Barrel to create the ultimate cozy look. The Brushed Cotton Sheets are soft and cozy but are also the perfect weight for year round use. The Cloud Cotton Quilt adds the ultimate softness – I love this fabric so much we made it into quilts, shams and even robes! The Sala Rug is a plush layer that helps to define the space, and has become the perfect landing for my daughter to practice her summersaults."

Ariel knows that the most important component to a good night’s sleep is to have a cozy bed. "The Parachute Mattress is the perfect foundation. It has helped my sleep tremendously," shares Ariel. The Mattress is constructed to be firm in the middle, for back support, and softer at the head and feet, for pressure point relief and spinal alignment. Sounds heavenly! To top it off the mattress is also eco-friendly and breathable.

To complete the space, Ariel selected minimal and soft accents. The Cortez Floating Nightstands, Lachin Table Lamp, Mimi Vegan Lambskin Chair, Vernet Travertine Cane End Table and Lotus King Bed all have soft, rounded edges that create a relaxed, restorative feel. Ariel says, "I’m into soft lines and mixed textural elements that add depth and visual intrigue. The bedding and furniture pieces all flow together so nicely. After seven years in the business of sleep, there is nothing better than relaxing in bed after a busy day. This bedroom makeover checks all the boxes!"
