Made of 100% Turkish Cotton, this limited edition set features flecks of contrasting color for a design that is classic, cozy and casual. The Speckled Collection graces new bedding, bath and robes for a fashion forward look that can best be described as bellissimo. Chief Creative Officer, Amy Hoban, and Director of Product Development, Meghan Knox, share with us a behind the seams look at our Speckled Collection.
Tell us more about the inspiration behind the Speckled Collection?
Amy Hoban, Chief Creative Officer:Our fall collection was inspired by Italian interiors and terrazzo tile plays a major part. The flecks and multi color of terrazzo felt like a great way to add a subtle pattern into our collection.
This is the first time we’ve carried a specific pattern from bedding to robes to bath. How did you choose which products would get the speckled treatment?
Amy:We felt that bedding, towels and robes would showcase the pattern and speckled effect best. Since these categories are our best sellers, we wanted to give customers the opportunity to layer more fun and fashion into the array of solids we currently offer.
Why is cotton the best fabric for the Speckled Collection?
Amy:Cotton is so breathable making it great for bedding and bath. Our goal was to create a soft, gauze-like feeling to complement the speckled pattern for a casual and lived-in look.
How did you land on the grey and ivory shades?
Amy:We wanted to offer the collection in both warm and cool tones – so ivory and grey made the most sense. Our palette has been getting warmer over the past few seasons, but shades of grey continue to be a customer favorite.
Meghan, Director of Product Development :The base colors are great staples as they work with our existing palette. The flecks of colors like charcoal and ochre offer a subtle yet sophisticated fashion pop.
How do you envision people styling the collection – all speckled or mixed and matched?
Amy:I’m a fan of the mix and match!
Meghan:I think there is something really nice about pairing the bedding with the bath for a cohesive look from bed to bathroom.
What is your favorite pairing / look with the Speckled Collection?
Amy:I personally love the Ivory Speckled Duvet Cover Set with the new Ochre Brushed Cotton Sheets, the ochre really picks up the specks and makes them pop.
Meghan:I love the idea of having the ivory color pop with our Ochre Brushed Cotton Sheets. I also love layering Coal Linen Sheets with the Grey Speckles. You can always keep it simple by layering ivory Speckle with Cream Percale Sheeting or grey speckle with Light Grey Percale Sheeting. However, you can’t go wrong with any option!
