What We’re Doing Now: We're taking steps to address the climate crisis by becoming Climate Neutral Certified and introducing circular programs.

Climate Neutral Certified: We're now Climate Neutral Certified! To become certified, we measured our 2021 emissions (including our entire supply chain across scopes 1, 2 and 3), offset our footprint with verified carbon credits, and began implementing 2+ medium-term reduction goals – including 1 Science-Aligned Target, which limits our emissions in alignment with the Paris Agreement.

Introducing Circular Programs: In 2022, we plan to launch our first circular program – the Recycled Down Pillow – which is made of sanitized down from returned Parachute pillows.

Responsible Materials

What We’re Doing Now: Our approach to sustainability includes offering GOTS-certified, Oeko-TexⓇ-certified and timeless, durable essentials.

GOTS Certified Products: Starting with our spring 2022 Organic Collection, a selection of our products are now GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified – the gold standard for organic cotton certification. This means the entire supply chain – from cotton gin to finished product – meets stringent ecological and social criteria set by the GOTS organization, and that harmful chemicals and dyes are not used.

Oeko-Tex® Certified Products: Our core products are Oeko-Tex® certified – meaning they have passed strict testing and are free from harmful levels of over 100 substances known to be dangerous to humans and the environment. Every component of the product is tested, from button to thread.

Responsible Down Standard® Materials: We’re committed to purchasing our down materials from an RDS-certified supplier, meaning the down comes from humanely treated ducks and geese, as well as upholds The Five Freedoms of animal welfare. Our down is also sustainably sourced as a byproduct of the food industry.

Diversity, Equity + Inclusion

What We’re Doing Now: We are committed to taking action towards anti-racism – and to DE&I across our organization.

Home for Dreams: The Home for Dreams initiative was established in the fall of 2020. This mentorship and grant program aims to support Black-owned, product-centric businesses with capital, advisory meetings and brand amplification.

Representation (Platforms, Partners and Employees): In 2021, over 50% of our paid influencer budget was dedicated to BIPOC, our percentage of BIPOC ambassadors increased from 19% to 35%, and 30% of our models were BIPOC. Internally, we’ve implemented additional diversity hiring practices – such as utilizing diversity job boards and requiring hiring bias trainings.

Learning and Development: We host quarterly DE&I education sessions led by expert speakers and internal teams, and send out an annual culture survey to gather feedback from the team on the effectiveness of our efforts.

Ethical Manufacturing

What We’re Doing Now: We partner with ethical manufacturers, like those who are Fair Trade™ certified and GOTS® certified.

Fair Trade Certified Products: We plan to source only Fair Trade Certified rugs – meaning the factories meet rigorous social, environmental, and economic standards, including: safe working conditions, environmental protection, sustainable livelihoods and community development funds.

GOTS Certified Products: The manufacturers of our GOTS-certified products must, at every step from cotton gin to finished product, meet criteria of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). This includes rules around workplace freedoms, child labor, discrimination, health and safety, harassment and violence, living wage gap, working time, precarious employment and migrant workers.

Our Goals

We’re setting a course to improve our operations, sourcing, supply chain and brand. With each step we take, we see how much there is to do – and that this is a path of continuous improvement, not a set destination.

Climate + Earth

Always: Encourage conscious consumption by making timeless, durable products you’ll love forever. Incorporate stewardship of our planet into our business decisions.

2022: Climate Neutral certified: Measure and offset carbon emissions, commit to reductions. Launch circular programs.

2023: Improve packaging: Transition out of vinyl, incorporate more sustainable materials.

2024: Replace virgin polyester with 100% Global Recycle Standard® (GRS) certified recycled polyester.

Responsible Materials

Always: Responsibly manufactured products designed to last using premium natural materials.

2022: Launch organic cotton collection featuring GOTS-certified bedding and towels and Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood furniture. 100% of wood sustainably sourced.

2024: Transition all cotton programs to 100% organic cotton. >50% of wood FSC certified.

Ethical Manufacturing

Always: Ensure we work with ethical manufacturers.

2022: Launch Fair Trade Certified products, starting with rugs.

2023: Expand Fair Trade Certified products to include a minimum of 3 new product categories.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Always: Representation matters. Create an equitable environment that fosters inclusion.

2022: 50% of leadership female-identifying and/or from underrepresented groups, anonymous employee feedback platform.

2023: Launch Employee Resource Groups, 2 paid service days a year, Cornell University Diversity and Inclusion Certificate Program completed by all members of executive and HR/Recruiting teams.
